おはようございます!

昨日池袋で経済学の勉強会を参加しましたジェフです。

遅く寝たので今日は寝すぎました・・・

さて、今日は7つの習慣の習慣1を話しましょう!

Habit 1 - Be Proactive
There are many factors that shape who we are.

Dr. Covey suggests 3 social paradigm (maps) that are widely accepted to explain the nature of man.

Genetic determinism - It’s your DNA defines who you are and the actions you take.
Psychic determinism - It’s your parents, upbringing, childhood experience do.
Environmental determinism - It’s your boss, spouse, other people do.

In short and in general, our behaviours and actions are triggered by stimulus reactively.
Stimulus -> Response

Dr. Covey think in a different way. He suggests we all have choices by taking initiatives and being proactive.
Being proactive meaning to be responsible.
He defines Response-ability as:
The ability to choose your response under different circumstances.
Proactive mode
Stimulus ——Freedom to chose —> Response
For example, you may have inherited DNA from your parents or your grandparents who have a genetic disease.

You may have higher chance to trigger the genetic disease sleeping in your body but you can take the “responsibility” to lower the chances by taking different actions or having different life style to prevent the genetic disease from waking up.
