20060513 Had a great dinner with Microst Engineer.....Rachel's parents....

I had a chance to have dinner with Rachel's parents tonight. They visit Rachel here in Taiwan and tour Taiwan by the way. One of the reasons that I want to meet Mr. Miller is that I have heard of that Rachel's Dad is working for Microsoft, I think it would be cool to know someone who works for Microsoft. I think the one who works in Microsoft might be cool and fun and great
and differentm, so I am so glad that Rachel has invited me to the dinner.

As soon as I got Hyatt Hotel, Rachel picked me up at the front gate of Hyatt. And then she leaded me to a nice Hyatt Italian resturant. I was so impressive by Rachel's parents, Steve & Sue, they were waiting for me at the entrance.

First time to meet Mr. & Mrs. Miller, I am so impressive by their curiosity and their young minds. They pretty like Taiwan and truly enjoyed the trip in Taiwan so far. They have been to 228 Peace Park and Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial. They kept asking
me questions about Taiwan's history. Unfortunely, I got a bad grade on History in the College Entrance Exam. I still tried my best to explained and conveyed the history to them based on my knowledge. Because of the culture difference, they cannot understand why we had to sacrifice some freedom in order to sourvive during the White Terror.

We even talked about the politics. I am not familiar and interested in politics. I have a very moderate attitude toward politics compared with some Taiwaneses. Some Taiwanese cannot accept or even tolerance the opposite party's opinion. I think that is too rediculous and too blind. I think we are all human beings, we should live together, peacefully and happily. Try our best to help each other and prevent the happening of wars.

I really know nothing about the politics. But I asked Steve a question about why America won't let us stop by America during Prsident Chen's World Diplomacy Trip. Out of my expectation, Steve did not know the answer, either.

I do not talk about the politics at all usually. I just like to share my thoughts with my new friends, especially that they want to know.

This is a great dinner, it is amazing. Good food and good chat. I felt do relax and great. Thank Rachel invited me to go to her parents' dinner. I am also glad that I go.

PS. Steve is one of the engineers editing the MSN program..........Wow.....that is so COOOOOOL......I just had dinner with a cool engineer who works for Microsoft and edits MSN.........COOL~~!!!
