祝日出勤について / About Working On Japanese National Holidays

本日は日本の祝日である『建国記念日』ですね。

さて、本日の一つ駅で・・・いや、今日は皆さん電車乗りませんので、名前を変えます。

さ、今日の歯を磨くながら読める英語短文は「祝日出勤について」です！

Good morning!

Unlike most salarymen in Japan, I work on Japanese national holidays.

Working on national holidays may sound tiring and unpleasant to most people, but not to me.

My favourite part of working on national holidays is the train ride. Train ride on holiday morning is pleasant, comfortable and even refreshing to me.

Commuting via trains at rush hour in Tokyo is overwhelming.

There are 7.5 million* commuter moving at rush hour in Tokyo.

Most railway/subway companies hire part-time staffs to enhance security and to "assist" passengers.

When I say assist, I meant "squeezing" passengers into train carts.

That is not very pleasant.
